From photographing the Carnival in Rio de Janeiro with its madness and sexuality, to having found himself lost in the souks of Marrakech, stalking tigers in the Indian Jungles or giving his minders the slip in Shanghai to get close to the locals, Rennie Ellis liked to put himself in a "state of grace with chance".
His adventurous spirit led him to locations all over the world and the camera was his companion and passport which allowed him to cross the thresholds.
